A Kind Lie

In our daily lives, we often encounter situations where we have to make decisions that involve telling a lie. While lying is generally looked down upon, there are times when it is done with good intentions, which we call "a kind lie."

One such instance occurred last week when I lost my lunch money, which my mother had given me. I was feeling worried and upset. My good friend, Xiao Mei, seeing my predicament, gave me her only 10 yuan, telling me that it was my mother's pocket money. I believed her and was grateful for her kindness. However, later on, I discovered that she had saved up this money from her breakfast to buy herself a schoolbag. This act of hers touched me deeply, and I realized that her lie was a act of compassion rather than dishonesty.

This experience taught me that not all lies are bad. Sometimes, telling a white lie can be a way to protect someone's feelings or to prevent them from harm. While it may go against our moral principles, a kind lie can be a powerful tool for good.
